About Michael Pollack

Michael Pollack is a social entrepreneur, teacher, writer, and co-founder of the SCA Charitable Foundation. A survivor of the 2008 Taj Mahal Hotel terrorist attacks in Mumbai, Michael has dedicated his life since that time to helping build deeper connections between people.

Together with his wife Anjali, he founded SCA, with a mission to find and cultivate world-class entrepreneurs with nascent business models, helping them scale their organizations to solve pressing social needs, particularly in mental health and education. More recently, he has become deeply involved in supporting the growth and development of psychedelic therapy, working with organizations like the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies ("MAPS") and the Center for Psychedelic Psychotherapy and Trauma Research (a joint venture between Mount Sinai and the James J. Peters Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center), among others.

As a writer and teacher, Michael has focused on inspiring transformative change, and challenging long held beliefs that limit growth and well-being. For a decade, he taught ethical philosophy and social entrepreneurship at NYU Stern. His viral article for Forbes.com, “Heroes at the Taj”, was published in the immediate aftermath of the attacks, and launched a fourteen-year journey of self-discovery. He is currently at work on a memoir.
